Led by producers and directors Daniel Rosenfeld and Mariano Nante, ROSINANTE is a new arthouse production company based in Buenos Aires. Rosenfeld and Nante have produced and directed fiction films and documentaries which have been featured and awarded in the most prestigious festivals around the world. Their latest film, “Piazzolla, the Years of the Shark” (co-produced with Arte and Idéale Audience), premiered internationally in IDFA to great acclaim, before starting its theatrical release in the Americas, Europe and Japan. ROSINANTE is specialized on arthouse films and music documentaries, and regularly co-produces with european countries.

Synopsis: DER KAISER VON ATLANTIS is an opera allegory in which the third reich era is ruled by madness and death. Its creators wrote and rehearsed it in the most unexpected place: a concentration camp. The authors could not attend the premiere—they were killed in the gas chamber weeks after the first rehearsal. Thanks to a miraculous chain of events, the original opera manuscript was spared from destruction. This film is about this opera, its background, and the meaning of its message to today’s world.
